The Gesellschaft für wissenschaftliche Datenverarbeitung mbH Göttingen (GWDG) aims to make its website accessible in accordance with EU Directive 2016/2102. Accessible means that information is readable and operable for people with different disabilities.
The following declaration on accessibility documents the implementation status in accordance with the Disability Discrimination Act (BGG) and the relevant contact options.
The assessment is based on a self-assessment (based on the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG)). The website is continuously checked by means of spot checks.
This accessibility statement applies to the landing page of the GWDG https://gwdg.de and associated subdomains. Excluded are other websites and subdomains that were not created via the central landing page.
This website is partially compliant with EU Directive 2016/2102. Some parts of the content do not fully comply with the accessibility standard. We are endeavoring to rectify the known difficulties as soon as possible.
The Gesellschaft für wissenschaftliche Datenverarbeitung mbH Göttingen has an extensive website with numerous subpages, which are maintained by various editors. Errors in the content design are therefore not entirely avoidable.
In some cases, the technical requirements for unrestricted accessible content design must first be created. The necessary reworking of pages, images and documents from the inventory takes a correspondingly long time. Due to the large number of documents created before 23.09.2018, it has not yet been possible to convert them into an accessible format.
If you would like to report any deficiencies with regard to compliance with accessibility requirements or have suggestions or questions regarding the implementation of accessibility, please write to the following e-mail address: barrierefrei@gwdg.de
If you do not receive a satisfactory response from the above-mentioned contact option, you can submit an application to the arbitration board set up by the Federal Government Commissioner for Matters relating to Persons with Disabilities to initiate arbitration proceedings in accordance with the Disability Equality Act (BGG). The arbitration board under Section 16 BGG has the task of settling disputes between people with disabilities and publicly funded institutions on the subject of accessibility in IT. The arbitration procedure is free of charge. No legal assistance is required.
