Technical Scope
The competition deals with IO-Performance of high performance storage solutions in general. This covers both:
- pure software approaches: for this the organizer of the event will provide a standard hardware setup (c.f. SSC - Systems overview)
- hardware/software approaches: dependent on the availability of sponsors, e.g. storage solution vendors, there maybe additional hardware available to be used exclusively by one team (team sponsor) or by all teams (event sponsor). The sponsors must agree to provide any necessary software license for the period of the competition and support the respective teams or events.
Legal Compliance
The competition will be carried out in compliance to the laws, restrictions and regulations - e.g. GPDR, export control, security regulations - imposed by the legislation of Germany and the European Union.

The overall score is defined as the sum of the individual scores and the overall rank is based on the ranks in each task. The rating criteria will ensure that the different approaches/solutions tested by the teams are rated in a fair transparent way. The final list of tasks and criteria are currently under development and will be updated.
